How the At-Home Feline Leukemia Test Works The FeLV/FIV combo test for cats detects the Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) antigen and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) antibodies in whole feline blood, plasma or serum – a drop of blood. This simple, at-home test is based on Rapid Immuno Migration technology and detects FIV based on the presence of antibodies against the virus. Formed complexes move along the test strips. The complexes are then captured on a specialized reaction line, where their presence causes the appearance of a visible indicator.
