The Double Jointed Leather Covered Loose Ring Bit has a stainless steel core wrapped in leather, providing strength while offering a softer surface than a bare metal bit. The leather softens slightly when moistened, giving a gentler surface for horses with sensitive mouths. Flat, non-abrasive stitching keeps the mouthpiece smooth, reducing the risk of irritation. Loose ring cheekpieces allow the bit to move freely in the horse’s mouth, encouraging jaw mobility and preventing the horse from locking against the contact. The double-jointed mouthpiece has a central link that distributes pressure evenly and reduces the nutcracker effect. Ideal for horses that benefit from a mobile mouthpiece and respond better to a softer, leather covered bit than to a standard metal one.
