Care & Planting Instructions

Prep the epiphytes (Anubias and Java Fern) by removing them from the pot and clearing all rockwool from the roots. Attach them directly to driftwood or rocks using super glue gel or thread, keeping rhizomes above substrate to prevent rot.

Prep Cryptocoryne by removing rockwool and planting root systems directly into quality substrate or aqua soil.

Attach Aquarium Moss to hardscape features using plant glue, thread, or by tucking it into rock crevices.

Maintain stable water conditions to support smooth acclimation and reduce initial leaf loss.

CO₂ is optional; all species included flourish in low-tech, non-CO2 setups under basic lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I plant the varieties in the Beginner Plant Pack?

Each plant type has slightly different planting needs:

Anubias & Java Fern: Remove from pots, clear away rockwool, and attach rhizomes to rocks or driftwood using aquarium-safe super glue gel or thread. Do not bury rhizomes in substrate.

Cryptocoryne: Remove from pot, gently clear rockwool, and press root systems directly into aquarium substrate or soil.

Moss: Tie or glue directly onto hardscape features or press into tight crevices.

2. Can I request specific plant varieties in my pack?

Because packs are curated based on current greenhouse inventory to guarantee maximum health and freshness, we are unable to accept requests for specific individual species or cultivars. However, every pack is guaranteed to include a healthy mix across the four core categories (Anubias, Java Fern, Cryptocoryne, and Moss).

3. Are the plants in this pack safe for shrimp and fish?

Yes, all species included in the Beginner Plant Pack are 100% safe for all freshwater fish, shrimp (including sensitive Caridina and Neocaridina), and snails. Their tough leaf structures (especially Anubias and Java Fern) also make them resistant to plant-eating fish like cichlids or goldfish.
