Description
Splashy Fin Aquarium Fish Net (5 inch) A good aquarium net for fish is one of those things you don’t think about until you need it, and then you really need it. This 5 inch fish aquarium net from Splashy Fin, sometimes searched as an aquarium fishing net or aquarium catching net, has a plastic-coated wire handle that’s light to lift and easy to grip, with a fine mesh built for catching fish or shrimp without stressing or injuring them. As an aquarium cleaning net, it works just as well for cleanup duty, scooping out uneaten food, decomposed debris and other waste that settles in a tank between water changes, making it a genuine fish tank cleaning net as much as a catching one. Features Plastic-coated wire handle , comfortable to grip and light enough for quick, controlled movements around the tank. Fine mesh netting , gentle enough to avoid damaging fins or stressing fish during a catch. Works in freshwater, tropical and saltwater setups , so one net covers most home aquarium types. 5 inch frame , a practical size for smaller to medium tanks and everyday cleanup tasks. What You Can Use It For This isn’t a single-purpose tool, and it works as an aquarium scoop net just as readily as a catching net. Beyond catching fish, it earns its keep on cleanup duty too. Catching and safely moving fish or shrimp between tanks, or out for a health check. Removing uneaten food before it decomposes and affects water quality. Skimming algae, plant debris and general waste off the surface or substrate. Everyday maintenance during routine tank cleaning, alongside your regular water change. Size This listing is for the 5 inch version, a genuinely versatile middle-ground size that suits most small to medium aquariums and everyday catching or cleaning tasks. If you’re searching for an aquarium fish net small size or an aquarium fish net big size specifically, this 5 inch net sits in between the two: bigger than a small size aimed purely at nano tanks and shrimp, and smaller than a big size built for large show tanks. If you’re working with a much larger tank or bigger fish, look for a larger net elsewhere in our range; if you keep very small fish or shrimp, a smaller, finer-mesh net designed for delicate species may suit them better. Caring for Your Net Rinse the mesh in clean water after each use, especially after scooping debris or waste. Let it air dry fully between uses rather than storing it damp, which helps prevent bacterial buildup. If you keep more than one tank, consider a dedicated net per tank to avoid cross-contaminating water between setups. Replace the net if the mesh tears or frays, a damaged net can injure fish during a catch. Frequently Asked Questions What is the best fish net for an aquarium? The right net depends on your tank and fish. A fine-mesh net with a comfortable, lightweight handle, like this one, suits most everyday catching and cleaning needs in small to medium freshwater or saltwater tanks. Larger tanks or bigger fish generally do better with a larger frame, and very delicate species like shrimp or nano fish benefit from an even finer, softer mesh. What is the best quality fish net, and what makes a fish net good quality? Three things matter most: a mesh fine and soft enough not to injure fins or scales, a frame sturdy enough to hold its shape while you’re chasing a fast fish, and a handle that’s comfortable to grip without slipping. This net covers all three with its plastic-coated wire handle and fine mesh netting. Does this come in a big size or small size? This specific listing is the 5-inch version, a versatile middle-ground size. Supertails currently carries this net in the 5-inch size only.
