The Merrill Medium Gag with Smooth Dogbone Roller is built for riders who want clearer communication and better responsiveness without sacrificing softness. The medium shank provides more authority than a short shank, helping lift the shoulders, elevate the front end, and maintain rate—especially helpful for horses that get heavy, push through the bit, or need a more defined signal. The smooth 3-piece dogbone mouthpiece offers even pressure with no nutcracker effect, while the roller encourages jaw relaxation. A more relaxed jaw leads to a softer face and a more willing response, making this bit a strong option for tuning, competition, or helping a horse stay light and correct in the bridle.Balanced, effective, and designed for refinement, this bit promotes better communication with every ride.
